Trump Announces Israel–Hamas Peace Deal: “We Ended War in Gaza”
In a historic breakthrough, Israel and Hamas agreed to the first phase of a US-led peace plan that includes a ceasefire, hostage release, and prisoner exchange. President Donald Trump declared the agreement as a major step toward lasting peace in the Middle East.
Under the deal, all Israeli hostages will be freed and Israel will withdraw troops to a mutually agreed line. The agreement comes two years after the October 7 attacks and amid widespread humanitarian devastation in Gaza.
World leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, and EU officials hailed the deal as a historic opportunity for long-term stability. However, questions remain regarding the future governance of Gaza and Hamas’s demilitarization.
